Our Story

Starting with just two cylinders of gas and four propane stoves, Captain Theo Bodden began the journey to opening Home Gas in 1957 as a way to ensure his customers, then heavily reliant on kerosene, would have an affordable, reliable source of energy. Now, over sixty-five years later, Home Gas is the largest propane provider in Cayman. Operating a newly built state-of-the-art terminal in Grand Cayman with up to 540,000 gallons of storage, along with services in both Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. Home Gas is proud to provide a sustainable and affordable energy solution to all three islands.

What is Propane?

Propane — sometimes known as liquefied petroleum gas, or LPG — is a gas normally compressed and stored as a liquid. It is nontoxic, colorless, and virtually odorless; an identifying odor is added so it can be detected.


What can propane be used for?

Propane is commonly used for water heating, cooking, generators, outdoor kitchens and as fuel for forklifts, and other commercial vehicles and equipment.
