The Propane Industry Safety First Programme has been established to ensure Cayman’s propane infrastructure is in excellent working condition.

Our team of inspectors will be visiting every Home Gas residential and commercial customer to inspect and document propane systems including the tank, regulators, and infrastructure to verify they are in good working order. This will include the logging of equipment, manufacturer, model, serial numbers, shut off valves, and condition.

This information will be compiled and reviewed by the Home Gas Service Team. Any safety or performance concerns will be discussed with customers. The safety data will then be made available to CIFS (Cayman Islands Fire Service) and other emergency responders.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding our Safety First Programme inspections please call/WhatsApp us on (345) 949 7474 or email us [email protected]

  2. Shut off the gas supply- if it is safe to do so, turn off the main gas shut-off valve on your propane tank. To close the valve, turn it to the right (clockwise).
  3. Leave the area immediately.
  4. Report the leak – to Home Gas on (345) 949 7474 or after-hours on (345) 640-6102.
